Admission process for students who cleared July re-exam begins September 7

After weeks of uncertainty over the First Year Junior College admission process for students who gave the School Secondary Certificate (SSC) July supplementary exam, the Education Department has finally announced a new round for all students who cleared the exam.

The 1.7 lakh odd students who did not clear the main exam held in March, were eligible to give the re-exams which were held between July 18 to August 3 across the state. The results of the exam were announced on August 30.

Meanwhile, the admission process for the remaining students was coming to an end and the last round was underway just as the results of the supplementary exams were announced. The overlap of dates and the announcement of the ‘final round’ merit list, left many students confused about the admission process for those who cleared the re-exams.

However, the Education Department has put all speculation to rest and announced the dates for the next round which is only for students who cleared the supplementary exams or have got an ATKT.

The details of the round are given below:

September 7 and 8: Students should collect the Login Id and Password from the guidance centers.

September 7, 8 and 12: Fill new form for online admission. Minimum of 10 colleges and maximum 15 need to be filled based on the availability of vacant seats across colleges. Students who cleared the supplementary exam should use the July exam’s seat number and fill their application form as OMMR option. ATKT students who have filled form previously should use their old Login ID and Password for opening their forms.

September 14: Merit list for the fourth special round will be declared online on FYJC website (http://fyjc.org.in/mumbai/) at 5 pm.

September 16 and 17: Students who are allotted seats under the round can confirm their seats by paying the fees of their respective colleges.

At the moment, the department has not said if it has plans of conducting another round after this.
