Fed of his Z-plus security, Juhu housing society asks Baba Ram Rahim to leave
Fed up of his Z-plus security detail, a plush Juhu housing society has reportedly served notice to spiritual leader Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh asking him to leave the building.
According to a Mumbai Mirror report, ever since the saint made the sea-facing duplex apartment his home, residents of Riviera Cooperative Housing Society in Juhu have to go through multiple security checks before entering their own houses.
Baba Ram Rahim Singh had temporarily moved to the society earlier this month and was scheduled to leave on February 10.
Although the apartment’s owner had informed the society that a spiritual guru was going to move temporarily into his apartment, he didn’t specify who that godman was.
Needless to say, the residents of the housing society were shocked to see the size of his Z-plus security detail, which includes three dozen armed policemen.
The society comprises of two 12-storeyed buildings – Riviera and Riviera Beach. The guru occupies the duplex on the 6th and 7th floor of the Riviera. The ground floor is occupied almost exclusively by his security detail, leaving little space for anything else.
In addition, anyone entering the building, including the residents, are frisked before they are allowed in.
“His guards are all over the compound. There is constant traffic of vehicles coming in and leaving the compound,” the society’s chairman Suresh Jasani told the daily.
Jasani also stated that the society is considering all options, but a final decision will be taken during the upcoming committee meeting.
The leader’s spokesperson, Aditya Insaan, however denied being served any notice.
“There is no truth in the allegations. He used to stay in Bandra earlier and there was no such complaint. If there is any such defamatory material against the spiritual guru then appropriate action will be taken,” he told Mirror.
Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh heads socio-spiritual organization Dera Sacha Sauda, and commands huge following in North India. In the last few years, he has also forayed into films as a means of effectively reaching out to today’s youth.
He is one of 36 VVIPs who has been assigned a Z-plus security cover by Government of India.
