Video: Sanjay Dutt’s security manhandles mediapersons, actor issues apology
Actor Sanjay Dutt, who is currency in Agra shooting for his upcoming film Bhoomi, ran into trouble yesterday after his security team roughed up a couple of media persons, following which an FIR was filed against the actor.
According to reports, a lot of fans had gathered to see Dutt in action on Thursday. Since the shooting for the Omung Kumar directorial taking place on VVIP road leading to the Taj Mahal, a lot of passersby and tourists also lined up to get a glimpse of the actor.
The large crowd inadvertently ended up blocking the road and affecting the traffic flow, which created problems for tourists who had come to visit the Taj Mahal.
During the chaos, Dutt’s security personnel reportedly pushed and manhandled a couple of mediapersons, leaving them injured. One of them, Ajay Kumar, then lodged an FIR with the Taj Ganj, Agra police station.

An official with Taj Ganj police station told IANS that a written complaint from the victim, a TV journalist, has been received and the matter was being investigated.
The journalist stated that many cameramen had come to get Dutt’s pictures. However, after the crowd got out of hand, the security and the police officials started manhandling everyone with sticks, during which he sustained injuries on his head and chest.
The commotion and the subsequent action by the police and security personnel was also captured on camera by bystanders and later uploaded to social media.
In another video, Dutt can be seen in conversation with irate mediapersons and fans, where he apologizes for the entire debacle.
“I was not there on the sets when the incident took place. My pack-up was done long time back. Had I been there, the incident wouldn’t have taken place…through our films, a city also gets promoted and if such a mishap happens, then it’s a shame for everybody,” he told reporters on Friday.
“Had I been there, I would have sorted the issue with love and my ‘jaadu ki jhappi’. I also apologised in front of media yesterday (Thursday),” he added.
Bhoomi marks Dutt’s comeback on the silver screen after his incarceration for the illegal possession of arms. Apart from the Munnabhai actor, it also stars Aditi Rao Hydari and Shekhar Suman.
Even last week, the crew had to halt the film’s shooting after a large group of fans arrived on set to get a glimpse of the actor.
