CR to implement new timetable from Saturday: Timings of 42 locals revised, 12 services extended
In a bid to further streamline the running of suburban locals and reduce delays during peak hours, Central Railway (CR) will implement a new timetable for its main line from Saturday, December 14.
Salient features of the new time table:
* The total number of services will remain the same, i.e. 858, as no new services have been introduced
* The timings of 42 trains have been revised to avoid a clash with outstation trains
* 12 services, including 6 up and 6 down, have been extended
* 7 services have been converted semi-fast and 2 semi-fast locals have been changed to slow
* 3 more services have been extended to Parel, taking the total number of services to & from the station to 38
* First local from Kasara to CSMT will depart at 3.51 am instead of 4.25 am
