The country’s west coast, including Mumbai, is set to receive less rainfall in the next 24-48 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said.
“The forecast for the next 24-48 hours indicates reduced rainfall activity over the west coast; intermittent intense spells,” stated India Meteorological Department, Mumbai.
According to the weather department, states such as Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh are likely to receive heavy rainfall tomorrow.
IMD has also forecast the presence of strong winds, with speed reaching 50-60 km per hour, over the southwest and the west-central Arabian Sea. Similar winds are likely over the north-west, east-central, and north-east Arabian Sea along and off the Gujarat coast.
Even fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea in these areas.
Mumbai and its adjoining suburbs have received incessant rainfall over the last four days, with some areas witnessing over 100 mm rainfall in a single day. The heavy showers have also caused water logging in several low-lying areas.
