Sachin, Prince William to bring city’s Oval Maidan on global map
Dilip Vengsarkar’s pitch at Churchgate’s Oval Maidan is being given some royal treatment, as a cricket match that will be played between city NGOs will be witnessed by none other but the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge- Prince William and Kate Middleton, along with God of cricket Sachin Tendulkar on April 10.
Former India cricketer, Dilip Vengsarkar will be playing host to the royal couple while trainees of his academy play a match.
Door Step School, an NGO that works to provide literacy to Mumbai’s marginalised, will get 25 of their children will be at the Oval to meet William and Kate. While five of them will play in Vengsarkar’s team, the remaining will be at our NGO tent where a classroom like atmosphere will be created by the NGO to explain William and Kate the work done by the NGO.
Also, 20 kids rehabilitated by Childline India will get the opportunity to meet the royals at the ground. The royal couple will then raise funds for Childline later in the day.
