My best film is still to come: Shahid Kapoor
Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor, who earned critical acclaim for his performances in films like ‘Kaminey’, ‘Haider’ and ‘Udta Punjab’, says his best is yet to come.
“My best film is still impending. I only concentrate on my next upcoming films,” Shahid said on the sidelines of the ongoing Jio MAMI 18th Mumbai Film Festival with Star in Mumbai.
After giving a powerful performance in ‘Udta Punjab’, which was based on rampant drug abuse in the state, Shahid will soon be seen in Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Rangoon’.
‘Rangoon’, a romantic drama set during World War II, also stars Saif Ali Khan and Kangana Ranaut in lead roles.
Earlier, Shahid did ‘Kaminey’ and ‘Haider’ with Bhardwaj. The actor hopes people appreciate their third outing together as well.
“I haven’t seen it yet. I am very much curious about the film. I just met Vishal sir and asked him to show me the film. I am very nervous about the film because this is the third time I am working with Vishal sir.
“Thankfully, the audience appreciated the films and this time too I don’t want to fall short of expectations,” he said.
The actor, who wed last year and recently welcomed his first baby daughter, also revealed that he takes wife Mira’s suggestions during script narrations.
She is 13 years younger than me so, she shows me the perspective of my audience, Shahid said, adding, “sometimes when I read a script and can’t relate to it, she looks at me and is like
‘Are you insane? This is exactly what normal people talk about. How can you not relate to this?'”
Shahid will also soon start shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming magnum opus ‘Padmavati’, which also features Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone.
