Housefull 3 breaks record of SRK’s Fan, Akshay’s Airlift

1. One of the most highly anticipated films of 2016, Housefull 3, hit theatres on June 3 and has been performing outstandingly at the box office.

2. The movie has tickled the funny bones of many cinemagoers across the world and has minted over Rs 100 crore in mere three days of its release. The film’s studio, Eros International, announced that the multi-starrer film has collected over Rs. 100.03 crores (USD 15 million) across the globe in its opening weekend with Rs. 73.02 crores gross (Rs. 53.31 crores net box office) in India and Rs. 27.01 crores overseas.

3. With a collection of over Rs 100 crore, Housefull 3 has left behind Akshay Kumar’s Airlift, Shah Rukh Khan’s Fan and Tiger Shroff starrer Baaghi to become the highest opening weekend grosser of 2016.

4. Film critic and trade analyst, Taran Adarsh, also took to his Twitter handle to share the movie’s box office collections in India and tweeted, “#Housefull3 was EXCEPTIONAL on Sun… Fri 15.21 cr, Sat 16.30 cr, Sun 21.80 cr. Total: ? 53.31 cr. India biz… Growth on Sun: 33.74%. FAB!.”

5. Helmed by Sajid-Farhad, Housefull 3 is the third installment of popular ‘Housefull’ franchise and stars Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Jaqueline Fernandes, Nargis Fakhri and Lisa Haydon in the lead roles.
