23-year-old riding triple seat dies in a bike accident at Worli

23-year-old Swagat Lokhande lost his life in an bike accident which took place in the wee hours of Sunday.

His two friends, Krishna Gawade (22) and Viraj Parab (22), who were riding pillion, were left critically injured and are now recuperating in Nair hospital.

A resident of Byculla, Lokhande had gone to Matunga to visit Krishna and Viraj. The trio decided to visit Worli sea face and all of them hopped onto Lokhande’s bike, riding a triple seat.

At about 4 am, Lokhande, who was riding the bike, lost control and his head hit the divider. The incident occurred opposite Poddar Hospital near Siddharth Nagar in Worli. He was declared dead before he could be admitted to the hospital. The other two were rushed to Nair hospital and have suffered a fracture in their leg and also head injuries.

The Worli police has also recovered the Karizma, which is in a mangled state. According to the sources, Lokhande was carrying a helmet, but he was not wearing it at the time of the accident.

Meanwhile, cops are investigating the case to find out whether the youngsters were in an inebriated state.
