Collegians drown in a river at Manor while swimming

Two students, Pankaj Mishra and Anmol Sahu, drowned in a river at Manor in Palghar district around 2 pm yesterday.

The students were from Ideal Institute of Technical Studies, Wada.

According to Manor police, the students had decided to bunk college and spend some time alongside the river. Pankaj and Anmol entered the river around 2 pm. Before the other two could enter, they saw Pankaj and Anmol drowning. They immediately called for help, locals dived into the river but couldn’t manage to save the two.

The bodies were taken to a rural hospital for autopsy. The autopsy report stated death due to drowning.

The bodies were then handed over to their parents and a case of accidental death was registered by the Manor police.
