1. On Wednesday, the MRA Marg Police Station along with Enforcers of Intellectual Property Rights (EIPR) seized sizable quantity of fake Hewlett-Packard (HP) products from a manufacturing unit at Vaju Kotak marg in Fort, Mumbai.

2. After a tipoff from an EIPR, cops raided the manufacturing unit and seized 158 fake toners, 14648 security labels, 750 toner outer boxes, 1530 toner bubble pack covers, 1460 MRP stickers, 2288 toner model no. stickers, 2230 warning stickers, 184 CCI logistic stickers, 200 toner drum, 90 toner pull tab, 1 blower machine, 2 pasting gun and 1 sealing machine.

3. Police were also able to nab the accused, identified as Ramkaran Jhinkau Berma, who was involved in manufacturing the fake products and selling them in local markets.

4. 22-year-old Berma is currently in police custody and cops have registered a case under section 51, 63 and 65 of the Copyright Act of 1957.

5. MRA Police will be destroying the seized products to ensure they don’t make their way to the market.
