Drunk Shiv Sena member from Dombivali gets injured after his loaded revolver misfires

The Tilak Nagar police have registered a case of negligence against a 38-year-old Shiv Sena member from Dombivli who was injured after his licensed revolver misfired.

The incident happened on Friday night when, an allegedly drunk, Amol Patil returned home after a party around 2 am.

According to the police, Patil had kept his loaded revolver near his stomach. “Incidentally, while he was climbing the stairs, a round was fired from the gun, which injured his stomach. His family then took him to a private hospital,” said a police officer.

Patil has been booked under Sections 286 (negligent conduct with respect to explosive substance) and 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others).

According to the Thane Commissionerate, the licensed revolver was issued to him for his personal safety.
