Builder arrested for flouting BMC norms, carrying out illegal construction
A 35-year-old real estate developer has been arrested for violating civic norms and carrying out a spate of illegal constructions in the city.
The accused, Salim Ali Maksood Ali alias Manzoor Khan, was booked under the Maharashtra Prevention of Dangerous Activities (MPDA) Act on Friday and placed under arrest on Saturday.
According to officials, Khan is accused of carrying out a spate of illegal constructions in the city and ignoring BMC norms. He is now facing up to one-year detention.
“The accused was arrested on Saturday after MPDA order was passed against him on Friday. He has been sent to Thane jail,” senior inspector from Chunabhatti police station, Janardhan Pagare, was quoted as saying.
