Car catches fire on Western Express Highway near Andheri flyover
A private vehicle went up in flames on the south-bound lane on Western Express Highway (WEH) near Andheri flyover on Tuesday afternoon.
The vehicle, a silver Renault Duster, caught fire around 1 pm today while travelling on the stretch of road just after Bisleri signal on WEH, adjacent to the Andheri flyover.
Mumbai fire brigade was immediately alerted about the mishap, following which one fire tender was pressed into service. The blaze has been brought under control as of publishing this report.
No casualties were reported in the mishap as the driver managed to get out of the vehicle on time. The reason why the vehicle caught fire is not yet known.
The incident, however, affected the flow of traffic on the south-bound lane from Andheri to domestic airport.

The incident comes hours after a trailer rammed into the Kings Circle railway bridge, affecting the flow of traffic between Sion and Dadar during peak hours.
