Fake casting director arrested for blackmailing aspiring models, actors

Mumbai Police have arrested a 29-year-old who would lure aspiring models and actors with casting calls and later blackmail them.
According to reports, the accused, Siddhartha Sarode, posed as casting director and used Facebook to invite young girls. He would promise them a break in Hindi films or television series.
He was reportedly arrested after he blackmailed some victims with objectionable and morphed pictures.
Siddhartha has been booked for threatening, extortion, and criminal intimidation under IPC and also under relevant sections of the Information Technology Act.
He has been remanded in police custody till April 28.
