In yet another mishap, a double-decker Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST) bus rammed into an overhead railing near Kalina University in Mumbai’s Santacruz area on Tuesday afternoon.

The bus was reportedly travelling from Bandra to Kalina via Western Express Highway when the driver crashed into the overhead guardrail near the university. The vehicle came to a halt few feet after hitting the height restriction barrier.

The iron railing tore into the bus’ roof, causing it to break and come right off.

Eye-witnesses speculate that the driver might have been unaware of the newly erected barrier. Poor visibility due to the incessant rainfall might have also played a part.

No person has been reported injured due to the incident and the bus has been moved to the side of the road as of publishing this report.
