An alert Chief Ticket Inspector helped identify and apprehend a man impersonating a ticket examiner at Mumbai’s Dadar station on Wednesday.

Central Railway’s (CR) Chief Ticket Inspector N B Sakpal was supervising his team of ticket examiners at Dadar station when he spotted an unidentified man posing as a TC.

“Sakpal noticed one person checking tickets and immediately recognised him to be an unknown person. He confronted the said person and questioned him about his identity,” read an official release of the Public Relations Department, CR.

Gautam Vishwas Sahasrabudhe was caught red-handed after Sakpal confronted him.

“Further interrogation revealed that the name of the person was Gautam Vishwas Sahasrabudhe and he was not a ticket examiner,” it added.

Authorities have taken action against Sahasrabudhe per rules. Sakpal, meanwhile, is likely to be rewarded for helping catch the imposter.
