Fire breaks out at Maharashtra Guest House near Premier Cinema, Parel
A fire broke out at Maharashtra Guest House in Mumbai’s Parel area on Monday evening. It is the second fire-related incident reported in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region in the last four hours.
According to eye-witnesses, the fire broke out around 4 pm at Maharashtra Guest House, located inside Iqbal Mansion on the busy Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Road, next to Premier Cinema in Parel.
The fire department was immediately alerted about the mishap, following which four fire tenders were rushed to the spot. Meanwhile, the three-storey building was evacuated.
The cause of fire is not yet known and no casualties have been reported as of publishing this report.
Fire fighting operations are currently underway and further details are awaited.
Maharashtra Guest House located opposite Crystal Tower, a luxury high-rise where a similar incident had transpired last week. Four persons were killed in the blaze and 20 others were injured.
Earlier today, another fire was reported in at Aamcho Koliwado restaurant in Vasai township of Palghar district.
Update:
(5:10 pm) The fire, suspected to have originated at a shop located on the ground floor, is under control and cooling operations are underway. No casualties have been reported.
