Video: Massive fire breaks out at ‘Aamcho Koliwado’ restaurant in Vasai

A massive fire broke out at a popular eatery in Palghar district’s Vasai township on Monday afternoon.

According to preliminary information, the fire broke out today afternoon at ‘Aamcho Koliwado’ multi-cuisine restaurant, located on Vasai Station Road near Stella in Manickpur, Vasai (West). The eatery is famous among locals.

The fire department was quickly alerted about the mishap, following which several fire tenders and water tankers from Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation were pressed into service.

By the time firefighting started, the entire front facing section of the restaurant had gone up in flames.

The incident also sparked some panic among bystanders. However, local police were quick to control the crowd.

The cause of fire is not yet known and efforts to douse the blaze are underway as of publishing this report.

No casualties have been reported so far, although a heavy monetary loss is estimated.
