Fire breaks out inside Bombay Talkies Compound near Somwari Bazar, Malad

A massive fire broke out near Bombay Talkies Compound in Mumbai’s Malad area on Tuesday morning.

According to preliminary information, the fire broke out around 11:20 am in one of the shops near Bombay Talkies Compound, located on L.N Road close to Somwari Bazar in Malad (West).

Mumbai Fire Brigade was alerted about the mishap, following which eight fire tenders and a jumbo water tanker were pressed into service. The fire has been escalated to Level II.

Officials from local police and one ambulance has also reached the spot. Fire fighting is underway as of publishing this report.

While no one has been reported injured till now, further details about casualties and cause of fire are awaited.
