Mumbai to witness pleasant weather, light to moderate showers in next few days: Skymet
Mumbai is likely to receive light rains in the next two to three days, followed by moderate showers in some areas between September 3 and 5, private weather forecasting agency Skymet has said.
The city witnessed a prolonged dry spell over the last few days, with the exception of light showers early morning on Thursday and Friday.
However, the prevailing conditions are likely to result in more rains.
“The Cyclonic Circulation persisting over Saurashtra region is now tilting southwards with height and we expect the Monsoon surge to become active over Konkan and Goa including parts of Mumbai and suburbs,” Skymet said.
As a result, light to moderate rains are likely in Mumbai during the next two to three days. The possibility of a couple of sharp showers for a very short duration cannot be ruled out.
The intensity of rains may increase in the following days, with heavy showers expected in some parts between September 3 and 5.
“However, very heavy rains are ruled out from the city and rains will not be as heavy to have caused any problems in terms of intense flooding or waterlogging,” it added.
The city, which has been slowly inching towards hot and humid weather, is also expected to get some respite from the heat as pleasant weather conditions are likely to prevail in the coming days.
