Video: Fire breaks out at 6th floor of Samarth Arcade building in Thane
A massive fire broke out at a commercial building in Thane on Tuesday morning. The blaze did not result in any casualties.

Location: According to preliminary information, the fire broke out on the sixth floor of Samarth Arcade building located at Prabhakar Hegde Marg in Uthalsar, Thane West.
Time: The mishap took place early morning today, following which fire department was alerted.
Severity: Officials from the fire department arrived the spot with two fire tenders initially. Later, two more were pressed into service.
Casualties & damage: The floor was evacuated before the blaze got out of hand. No casualties have been reported as of publishing this report.
Current status: The fire has been brought under control as of 11:30 am. Officials from the fire department and local police are on the spot, surveying the premises.
Update:
(1 pm) – The blaze broke out at real estate developer Sanjay Bhalerao’s office around 10 am. Since the office was locked at the time, the fire only became evident after the smoke started billowing from the office window.
A nursing home on the first floor was evacuated as a precautionary measure and no one was reported injured. The fire department is yet to ascertain the cause of fire.
Cause of fire: The cause of the fire is not yet known.

The mishap comes barely four days after three people were killed and 15 injured in a series of blasts and a massive fire at a private chemical manufacturing company at Tarapur MIDC in Maharashtra’s Palghar district.
