A massive fire broke out near Milan Subway in Mumbai’s Santacruz area on Wednesday evening.
Location: According to preliminary information, the fire broke opposite Milan Mall near Milan Subway in Satacruz West.
Time: The mishap took place around 3:45 pm, following which fire department was alerted.
Severity: Officials from the fire department have reached the spot with at least three fire tenders and water tankers. More fire tenders may be pressed into service shortly.
Casualties & damage: No casualties have been reported till now.
Current status: The entire area has been engulfed in a massive cover of black smoke due to the intensity of the blaze. A large crowd has gathered near the affected area even as firefighting is underway. More details are awaited.
(4:35 pm) Motorists are advised to avoid taking Milan Flyover as heavy congestion has been reported in the area. Traffic officials are on the spot trying to direct the traffic.
Cause of fire: The cause of the fire is not yet known.
The incident comes two days after back to back fires broke out at out at Maharashtra Nagar compound in Govandi and Denoar Dumping Ground. Both fires, fortunately, did not result in any casualties and were doused in a few hours.Back to latest news
