3 injured in late night accident involving 4 cars, bike at Marine Drive
At least three people were injured in an accident involving four cars and a bike during the wee hours of Monday at Mumbai’s Marine Drive.
The incident took place near Ambassador Hotel in Churchgate, South Mumbai around 2 am.
According to preliminary information, one of the cars rammed into a cyclist and came to an abrupt halt, following which three trailing cars and a bike collided into each other.
The cause of the accident, and whether any of the drivers were speeding, is not yet known.
Of the four cars, two were public vehicles (black and yellow taxi and a Hyundai Xcent) while the other two (Hyundai i10 and Maruti Ertiga) were registered privately. A biker, likely riding a Hero Honda Splendor Plus, was also involved in the mishap.
As of publishing this, at least three people – including the biker – were reported to have sustained injuries and had to be rushed to a nearby hospital, where they are still undergoing treatment.
