1. Amboli police, on Friday, arrested one of Gujarat’s most wanted criminals, with multiple counts of murder and other serious offences registered against him.

2. The 28-year-old accused, Rajesh Prakash Rawal aka Raju Marwadi, had fled from Ahmadabad in 2011 after killing Balwant Kahar at LG Hospital in Maninagar. Since then, he had been keeping a low profile and earning minimum wages by doing odd jobs.

3. After receiving a tip-off about Rawal’s arrival at Infinity Mall, Deputy Commissioner of Police Satyanarayan Choudhary formed a team and managed to arrest the accused from Andheri (W).

4. While in police custody, Rawal confessed to the high-profile LG hospital murder. However, he is wanted by the Ahmadabad police for three murders, a weapons case and multiple other serious offences.

5. The Amboli police have informed their Ahmadabad counterpart, who are expected to arrive in the city today to take custody of the accused.
