Four pedestrians were injured in Mahim on Wednesday evening after an elderly taxi driver suffered a heart attack while driving and inadvertently hit them with his vehicle.

The driver, identified as Rajapati Dubey, later died during treatment at the hospital.

According to officials, the mishap occurred around 6:30 pm near Paradise Cinema in Mahim yesterday when the 57-year-old was on his way to Bandra after filling fuel in the taxi. He was not ferrying any passengers at the time.

All the injured were taken to either Bhabha and Hinduja hospital for treatment. Two injured were identified as Rajendra Kumar (40) and Pratibha Waghmare (43). The other two sustained minor injuries and were discharged immediately.
