City dabbawalas on a 6 day leave from today
Thousands of office-goers from the city will have to resort to ordering food as the iconic dabbawallas are going on a week’s leave starting from today.
The tiffin service will remain closed from April 18 to April 23 and will be resumed from 25th April i.e. Monday onwards.
Around 5000 dabbawalas of the Mumbai Tiffin Carriers Association (MTA) will go on their annual pilgrimage in their respective villages.
The Six Sigma rated enterprise delivers nearly 1.75 lakh lunch boxes to offices every day, employing about 4-5 thousand personnel.
