Dawood to attend his nephew’s wedding in Mumbai via Skype
Despite being in Pakistan, underworld don Dawood Ibrahim will reportedly attend the wedding of his nephew Alishah Parkar, the youngest son of Dawood’s sister Hasina Parkar, virtually via Skype. The wedding will take place tomorrow (August 17).
According to sources, the wedding will be a grand affair as Alishah is Hasina’s only surviving son. His elder brother Danish had lost his life in a road accident in 2006. His sister, Umaira also got married in 2015, but the event was kept low-key in the wake of Hasina’s death a few months prior.
The traditional nikal will take place on Wednesday morning at Rasool mosque in south Mumbai, while the reception will be hosted at Juhu’s Tulip Star hotel in the evening. The family has made adequate arrangements to ensure that the dreaded gangster is able to oversee the proceedings and bless the couple.
Dawood has instructed his men in Mumbai to ensure that the wedding reception goes smoothly and no guest is inconvenienced. However, officers from the Mumbai Crime Branch and anti-extortion cell will be keeping tabs on the guests and be on the lookout for any wanted aides. An officer also told a leading daily that there is a possibility that rival gangsters may try to create problems.
Alishah, who is currently in the real estate business, is marrying Ayesha Nagani. The bride is from the Memon community and the couple has been reportedly dating for quite sometime.
Dawood’s brother Iqbal Kaskar, their sisters Zaitoon and Farzana, along with their husbands, are also likely to attend the wedding.
