Religious leader Radhe Maa has been booked for carrying trishul on flight

Mumbai Police has lodged an FIR against self-styled godwoman Radhe Maa for carrying a ‘trishul’ (trident) on a flight from Aurangabad to Mumbai in August last year.

City’s airport police station registered the case after a magistrate’s court earlier this month ordered the police to lodge an FIR under the Arms Act.

The directive was issued following a PIL filed by RTI activist Asad Patel, who claimed it was against the rules to carry sharp objects inside the domestic and international airport premises.

Last year, Asad had complained to the Airport police and airport authorities. Upon realising that his complaint had fallen on deaf ears, Asad approached the court.
