Legal woes: Hrithik’s ‘affair with the Pope’ tweet lands him in soup
Hrithik Roshan has been sent a criminal notice for hurting religious sentiments by his ‘Affair with the Pope’ tweet
Seems like Hrithik Roshan is literally walking on the Angeepath these days. The actor had, on January 28, tweeted that there are more chances of him having an affair with the Pope. It’s believed that Hrithik said so in reaction to alleged ex-girlfriend Kangana Ranaut statement that her “silly ex” was giving her trouble and causing her to lose roles.
Now that tweet has not gone down well with a group of Christian community, as a Christian secular forum from city has slapped a criminal notice on the actor. The suit was filed by Abraham Mathai, the president of Indian Christian Voice on March 28, and Mathai has sought an unconditional apology from Hrithik for hurting religious sentiments.
After Hrithik received the notice yesterday, his lawyer said that the actor is willing to apologise for his tweets if religious sentiments were hurt.
Interestingly, in the notice, Mathai has pointed out that Hrithik’s tweet suggested that the Pope is gay.
