Mika files extortion complaint against model who accused him of sexual assault

After a model filed a complaint against Mika Singh for sexual assault on Tuesday, the singer retaliated by filing a counter-complaint alleging extortion.

The 32-year old model claimed that the ‘Mauja Hi Mauja’ singer misbehaved with her when she visited his house on Tuesday morning. Based on the designer’s complaint, Versova police have booked Mika under sections 354, 323, 504 of the Indian Penal Code.

On the complaint, an officer from Versova police station told DNA, “There they reportedly entered in some heated argument after which there was a scuffle between them, alleged the victim in her complaint. The victim later approached Versova police station and lodged a complaint against the singer.”

Later in the evening, Mika denied all charges levied against him by the model and filed a counter-complaint claiming that the model was trying to extort money from him.

The singer told police that the model had demanded Rs 5 crore from him and threatened to ruin his career if he didn’t pay. Since he refused to give in, the model filed a bogus complaint against him.

This isn’t Mika’s first run-in with the law. In 2006, Mika had made headlines for kissing actress Rakhi Sawant. In 2014, the actor was involved in a hit-n-run wherein he had knocked down a rickshaw and injured the passenger. In 2016, the ‘Aaj Ki Party’ singer had slapped a doctor at a live concert in South Delhi.

Versova police are currently investigating the case. No arrests have been made till now.
