Minor raped in Dombivali temple

In a shocking incident, parents filed a police complaint after learning that their minor daughter was allegedly raped inside a temple in Dombivali by an unidentified youth from the same area.

The incident came to light after the minor’s health deteriorated and her parents took her to see the doctor. After a checkup, doctors informed them that their 15-year-old daughter was pregnant.

In a state of shock and disbelief, the parents confronted the child. Following which, the minor confessed that an unidentified youth had forced himself on her while she had gone to visit the temple in their locality 6 months back.

The parents immediately filed a complaint with the Manpada police. Cops visited the girl to take her statement, but were unable to do so since the minor was still in trauma after learning that she had been impregnated.

While talking to DNA, an officer from Manpada police officer said, “The minor girl was raped inside the temple, which is hardly frequented by devotees. The parents of the girl learnt about the incident only after she had conceived, as she had not spoken to anyone about the incident till then.”

He also told the leading daily, “The girl has been admitted to KEM hospital because of her pregnancy. She is in trauma and is unable to reveal the identity of the youth. We are waiting for her to recover completely and will soon arrest the accused.”
