One dead, 3 injured in tourist car accident on Ghodbunder Road, Thane
A passenger was killed and three others injured after a tourist vehicle met with an accident on the busy Ghodbunder road in Thane West on Tuesday morning.
According to preliminary information, the tourist vehicle – a Maruti Suzuki Ertiga – met with an accident due to an oil spill on the road. The car with number MH 01 CR 5315 is registered to Kamran Sayyad.
The incident took place near Tattvagyan Vidyapeeth, next to Wonder Mall on Ghodbunder road around 8 am today, following which officials from the traffic police, regional disaster management cell (RDMC) and fire brigade reached the spot.
All occupants, meanwhile, were rushed to nearby hospitals. One of the occupants, Mehatab Qureshi (20), who was rushed to Thane Civil Hospital was declared dead on arrival.
The other three – Shakib Shaikh (21), Farouq Ansari (21) and Rabiya Shaikh (21) – sustained minor injuries and are recuperating at Jupiter Hospital.
The accident affected the movement of vehicles on the busy Ghudbunder road earlier today. However, the situation has normalised as of publishing this report. TMC officials, meanwhile, are working on getting the oil and coolant spill cleared from the road.
