Speeding double decker bus rams into tree at Bandra Kurla Complex, 6 injured
Six people were reportedly injured after the driver of a double decker BEST bus rammed into a tree at Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) on Wednesday afternoon.
The incident took place around 1 pm near City Park in BKC on the Kurla-bound lane, when the bus driver rammed the vehicle into the tree, causing severe damage to the roof and injuring multiple passengers sitting in the top section.
According the preliminary information, the driver was speeding and trying to overtake another vehicle when the incident took place.
Six passengers were reportedly injured in the incident, some of whom are believed to be students of Rizvi College. All injured have been taken to a nearby hospital.
Police officials are currently on the spot, trying to manage the situation.
The bus, number 310, was subsequently vacated and the passengers were moved to a different bus.
Although no case was registered at the time of writing this report, the driver will likely be booked for rash driving.
