Two people were seriously injured in a major accident on the Eastern Freeway on Sunday night.
The accident took place around 8:30 pm near Wadi Bunder on the Eastern Freeway, when the passengers of the black-colored Honda City were heading towards Chembur.
According to preliminary information, the driver lost control of the speeding vehicle, causing it to ram into the divider.
The impact of the crash resulted in the divider railing piercing into the front windshield and bonnet of the vehicle.
Bystanders quickly informed the police about the incident, who then alerted the fire department. Two fire engines arrived at the spot around 9 pm.
In the interim, officials from the nearby Sewri police station arrived at the spot and rescued two passengers, a male and a female.
Both were seriously injured and rushed to JJ hospital.
