A concrete slab on Platform 1 at Vasai station collapsed around 8:30 am on Tuesday.
The slab, which was located at the end of the staircase, gave in and caused over 20 passengers to fall in the underlying drainage.
Fellow passengers quickly came to the rescue and managed to get most of the passengers out in no time.
As of 10:30 am, 15 passengers have been reported injured. Railway authorities have surveyed and cordoned off the area for the time being.
