A minor fire broke out at industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s residence Antilia on Monday night.

The blaze started on the 9th floor of the 27-storey building owned by the Ambanis on Altamount Road, the Disaster Control Room of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said.

“We got a call at 9:04 pm and fire brigade personnel reached the spot at 9:13 pm on the Altamont Road,” said Mahesh Narvekar, Chief Officer, Disaster Management Cell.

At least half a dozen fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the flames, a civic official said. The fire was escalated to Level 1 at 9: 26 pm.

Mumbai Police’s PRO Rashmi Karandikar said police and fire brigade teams were at the spot and the situation was under control.

No one was injured in the mishap. The fire, meanwhile, was restricted to the mobile tower, plastic framing of vertical garden and other furniture in the vicinity.

The blaze has been doused as of publishing this report. The cause of fire is not known and further details are awaited.

Located in a posh area of South Mumbai, Antilia is one of the most expensive residential properties in the world, with an estimated value of over $2 billion. It has a staff of 600 to maintain the residence 24/7.
