1 dead, 3 injured after part of under-construction building collapses in Dharavi
At least one person died and three others were injured after a portion of an under-construction building in Mumbai’s Dharavi area collapsed on Sunday night.
The incident took place late last night at PMGP colony near Dharavi Bus Depot, following which a team of police and fire officials reached the spot.
According to preliminary information, the incident allegedly took place due to the negligence of the contractor.
All injured persons, meanwhile, were rushed to nearby Sion Hospital for treatment.
“A pipe fell from under construction building. One person, who died was an auto driver. A person driving a bike also sustained injuries, we took him to hospital. The incident took place around 10:30 pm,” PMGP colony resident Naim Kureshi was quoted as saying.
The deceased was reportedly identified as 32-year-old Shadad Ali Ansari.
Further investigation in the case is underway.
