CA May 2016 final exam results announced

Around 1:30 pm on Monday, the Institute of Chartered Accounts of India (ICAI) declared the Chartered Accountants (CA) final examination and Common Proficiency Test (CPT) exam results for 2016. ICAI conducts CA Final exam twice a year, with the last one conducted in May 2016. The ICAI results for the same are currently available at www.icai.nic.in.

The ICAI also allowed candidates to register for the results prior to the actual announcement. Applicants could simply fill their names, roll number and email ID and receive the results upon declaration via email.

With a pass percentage of under 5 percent, the CA exams are among the toughest competitive exams in the country. Last year, out of the 42,469 candidates that had taken the exam (both group I & II) in November, only 2,440 qualified.

A candidate is considered to have passed the exam if he/she has scored a minimum of 40 percent marks in each group paper or 50 percent in the aggregate set.

How to get the results:

1. Go to caresults.nic.in
2. Select the relevant exam
3. Enter the roll number, PIN number OR Registration number and hit ‘submit’
4. The result will be displayed on screen

SMS:

1. For final examination result, send a SMS to 58888 with CAFNL(space)XXXXXX (XXXXXX is your 6-digit roll number)
2. For CPT result, send a SMS to 58888 with CACPT(space)XXXXXX (XXXXXX is your 6-digit roll number)

The all-India merit list of candidates securing a minimum of 55% and up to ‘Rank 50’ will be made available on the ICAI website shortly.

Candidates not satisfied with the result can apply for reevaluation by submitting an application to ICAI along with a demand draft.
