1. On Monday, a youth allegedly tried to fling his slipper at Bihar’s Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at the politician’s weekly gathering ‘Janta ka Durbar’.
2. The incident occurred when the youth, whose name incidentally is also Nitish Kumar, came to meet the CM and hand over his request in the public gathering which was held at the CM’s home.
3. Nitish Kumar, the politician, was talking to a few people from the crowd when the accused targeted him. The CM claims that the chappal hit him on his shoulder.
4. The youth was allegedly upset with the ban on cooking and religious ceremonies during the day, controversially ordered as a precaution against fires in villages by the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government.
5. After the incident, the 65-year-old CM urged the police to release the other Nitish Kumar as quickly as possible
