After Lendl Simmons’ impressive knock of 82 in 51 balls helped steer his into the World T20 final, the joy of the Caribbean team knew no bounds.
As one would expect, the highly coveted victory didn’t end with a few handshakes and smiles. The West Indians are well renowned for their partying way. So, after partying in the dressing room, they had a little after party back at the hotel.
After leaving the stadium, West Indies captain Darren Sammy and all-rounder Dwayne Bravo led the Windies back to the hotel while doing a celebratory jig to the song “Champion”. The single, written and sung by Bravo himself, was blaring from a portable speaker in Sammy’s hands.
As the chorus of ‘champion..champion’ echoed throughout, Bravo and Sammy continued dancing to the tunes receiving applauds from the team’s support staff while hotel crew and guests looked on, amused.
