WWE’s 9th wonder Chyna found dead in apartment
Joan Laurer, popularly known by her stage name ‘Chyna’, was found dead in her California apartment on Wednesday.
Laurer, 45, joined the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) in 1997. She gained popularity after teaming up with Shawn Michaels and Triple H to form the controversial group ‘DX’. The DX storyline was amongst the most memorable ones and a highlight of WWE’s ‘Attitude Era’.
Although Chyna won the women’s championship in 2001, she is best remembered for created history by becoming the first and only woman to win the WWE’s coveted Intercontinental championship in 1999.
After quitting WWE, Laurer appeared in TV shows like ‘Celebrity Rehab’, ‘3rd Rock from the Sun’ and ‘Surreal Life’. She also appeared in several adult films before moving to Japan to teach English.
The news of her death was posted on her official Twitter handle @ChynaJoanLaurer.

The official cause of her death is still unknown.
