Mumbai Traffic Fines 2018: Updated list of penalties for traffic violations

Union Cabinet in 2016 approved the Motor Vehicle (Amendment) bill, which raised penalties for traffic violations across the country, including Mumbai.

The traffic fines take further precedence with the introduction of the e-challan system in the city.

The hike in traffic fines, coupled with the e-challan system, are aimed at reducing the number of traffic offenders and curbing the practice of offering bribes to officials.

The updated penalties for traffic violations in Mumbai as of 2018 are listed below:
