Youth stabs elder brother in Malad over ancestral property

On Sunday, the Kurar police arrested 20-year-old Mohd Khan for allegedly killing his elder brother at his Malad residence following a property dispute.

The incident happened at around 3 am, when the deceased, Ismail Khan and his wife were asleep. Mohd barged into the house and stabbed Ismail several times with a sharp knife.

During the altercation, when Ismail confronted him, the accused slit his throat and fled the spot. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital, but was declared dead on arrival.

Mohd, a native of Bihar, had come to Mumbai to talk with his brother about an ancestral property. However, the two were unable to reach a consensus which led to a heated argument between the brothers.

The accused was later arrested by the Kurar police and has been booked for murder.
