BMC conducting 2 day workshop in Bandra on waste management
Effective waste management is still a distant dream as far as most housing societies are concerned.
But that, by no means, implies that things aren’t changing. A handful societies from Mumbai’s suburbs, especially Khar and Bandra, have started segregating their waste diligently. After watching them, more have followed suit.
Inspired by the zest with which the societies have come forward to help, the city’s civic body has decided to conduct a workshop that will give insights on effective waste managements to anyone willing to bring about a positive change in their environment.
The workshop, called ‘Journey’, is being conducted by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) H-West ward on April 22 and 23.
For the two day workshop, BMC has roped in experts who will demonstrate how waste can be segregated and disposed in the right way. In addition, speakers will also talk about how the success stories of societies that have risen to the challenge and brought about a substantial change.
The workshop will be be held at Gen. Arun Kumar Vaidya BMC ground near MET college at Bandra Reclamation between 10 AM to 7 PM. Citizens and volunteers from housing societies, NGOs, corporates and colleges are expected to attend the workshop.
The workshop is free and open for all.
