Confirmed: Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan to team up for ‘Thugs of Hindostan’
Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan finally ended weeks of speculation surrounding his upcoming project with Amitabh Bachchan on Wednesday morning, when he confirmed that the two will star together for the first time in Yash Raj Films’ ‘Thugs of Hindostan’.
Bachchan, 73, and Aamir will share the screen space for the first time in the movie, to be directed by ‘Dhoom 3′ helmer Vijay Krishna Acharya (Victor). The film is reportedly based on novelist Philip Meadows’ 1839 book Confessions of a Thug.
While both Aamir and Bachchan are icons of modern day cinema and have been tremendously successful in their respective careers, the two haven’t crossed paths despite being in the industry together for over 25 years. Incidentally, Sr. Bachchan has featured in films with Aamir’s biggest contemporaries – Shah Rukh and Salman.
The 51-year-old actor said he is excited to work with his icon, whom he has admired all his life.
“Finally the moment I have been waiting for has come… To work with my icon, Mr Bachchan! Thanks Adi, Victor, for ‘Thugs of Hindostan’. I’m too thrilled to be working with the actor I have admired all my life,” Aamir posted on Twitter.

The actor, who is geared up for the release of biopic ‘Dangal’ which features him in the lead role of Mahavir Singh Phogat, will start shooting for the YRF project early next year. The leading lady of the film is yet to be announced soon.
‘Thugs of Hindostan’ is slated to release on Diwali 2018.
