Cops arrest man who kidnapped ex-wife’s brother, demanded Rs 5 lakh ransom
The Parksite police have arrested a man who had kidnapped his ex-wife’s 12-year-old brother and demanded Rs 5 lakh for his release.
The accused was arrested from Naval Colony in Kanjurmarg. According to police, the man first kidnapped the boy and then sent a text message to his sister demanding the amount for his safe release.
The woman immediately approached the police. As soon as the accused came to know that the matter has reached to the cops, he got scared and released the boy at Mumbra railway station.
While investigating the case, the cops came to know that the victims sister is a divorcee. They then called her ex-husband for questioning. Upon questioning, he spilled the beans and confessed to his crime.
The police immediately arrested him and recovered two mobile phone and the SIM card from which the text message demanding the ransom was sent from his possession. The cops also arrested friends of the accused who helped him kidnapping the boy.
During the interrogation, the accused said that he wanted to harass her ex-wife and her family, and hence he committed the crime.
