Cops book three for ‘screaming’ bhajans in Churchgate-bound slow local
Yesterday, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) prosecuted three passengers for singing bhajans while travelling in a Churchgate-bound slow local train.
The action was taken after a commuter complained to the RPF about loud noise made by the trio. The three were prosecuted under section 145 (B) of the Railways Act.
Senior Divisional Security Commissioner for RPF on WR said it is always a catch-22 situation for them as some people think singing bhajans is a social cause, while others see it as a nuisance.
He added that in such a situation, cops take action if there is a complaint by a passenger.
