Daya Nayak returns, to be posted at Marine Drive police station
After recently being reinstated in the state police department this January, encounter specialist’ police officer Daya Nayak had been given posting at the Marine Drive police station.
Nayak, who is accredited with 83 encounters, is likely to take charge of his new assignment in a week’s time, say sources.
Nayak was suspended in June last year for not joining duty and being on sick leave for a long time. At that time he was posted in Nagpur. Before that, after being under suspension for around six years, Nayak was reinstated in June 2012.
The 1995-batch police officer was suspended in 2006 after the Maharashtra Anti-Corruption Bureau arrested him on the charge of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
