8 bikes damaged after part of building in Railway Quarters, Thane collapses
At least 8 two-wheelers were damaged after a part of a ground plus four-storey building collapsed in Thane’s Naupada area on Friday.
According to eye-witnesses, a part of the third floor of a Railway Quarters building in B-Cabin collapsed today afternoon. The debris of the collapsed concrete fell right in front of the structure, where bikes would typically be parked.
While no individual was hurt in the mishap, at least 8 two-wheelers parked right under the affected area were badly damaged due to the falling debris.
The remaining portion of the third floor is hanging precariously as of now.
A team from Thane Municipal Corporation’s Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC), local police and fire brigade are current on the spot to inspect the structure.
